What makes Kids in Rhythm unique?
Kids in Rhythm is an inclusive preschool that combines preschool learning with needed therapies such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, and behavior intervention. Children of all abilities learn together in one classroom.
As a parent, how can I be involved in this learning process?
Parent involvement is so important! We will be maintaining consistent communication with you to help you understand what we are learning in school and how you can support that at home. One of the best ways is to read to your child every day!
What are the readiness and/or physical requirements for my child to attend?
There are no readiness and/or physical requirments as long as long as the child has supports to help them be successful I.E. (having parents consent for BI services if appropriate.)
What does a typical day look like?
Kids in Rhythm begins the day with free play followed by group circle time and activity centers. We end the day with a snack and more free play.
Will my child learn how to play an instrument, and do I have to provide one?
Music is an important part of Kids in Rhythm, but instrument lessons are not given during preschool. If you are interested in piano, guitar, or voice lessons they can be scheduled before or after preschool.
What is the staff to student ratio?
There is at least one adult per every 6-10 students.
How do you handle discipline?
We use the Positive Discipline approach. We believe in helping kids feel successful. We focus on solutions rather than punishment. For more information visit www.positivediscipline.com.
Do I need to pack a lunch for my child?
Please pack a small snack and drink (preferably water) for your child each day.
Where are we located?
We are located inside The Sensory Playce at 1471 S Vinnell Way, Boise, ID 83709. The Sensory Playce Gym for Kids provides children daily access to specialized equipment, social interaction, and learning opportunities. For more information please visit www.thesensoryplayce.com.
Do kids have to be potty trained?
Kids do not have to be potty trained.
